Nordbrug
The Nordbrug is a fine example of what the architectural world calls a 'cable-stayed bridge'. It connects the city centre with the Texture museum, the Overleie district and the more distant boroughs of Heule and Bissegem. On the city centre side, you will find a real 'basketball hoop' and Kortrijk Weide.
The bridge dates from 2010 as part of the Leiewerken, but is a replacement of older variants over which even an electric tram line once ran. The tram has been replaced by a scheduled bus that runs down Kortrijk's north-south axis at regular intervals.
